Pasar2 di AS terjun lagi semalam membuat Dow Jones menghadapi mulai yg terparah sejak 1983. Penurunan di ISM manufacturing index ke 47.7 mengindikasikan resesi yg makin dekat dan juga harga minyak mentah yg menyentuh $100 per barrel dan emas di $860 per ounce semalam membuat para investor khawatir dan melarikan uang ke bidang investasi lain yg lebih aman. Dow terjun 220.86 pts atau 1.67%, Nasdaq kehilangan 42.65 pts atau 1.61% dan S&P500 jatuh 21.20 pts atau 1.44%.
Pasar2 Asia mungkin akan turun lagi di pembukaan di hari ke-2 2008 ini. Nikkei masih ditutup sampai besok. Ketegangan politik di Pakistan, kekerasan yg bertambah di Nigeria memangkas produksi minyak dan pengeboman yg lebih parah di Baghdad membuat minyak mentah menembus harga $100 per barrel. Sekarang, minyak di trade di harga $99an, emas ada di $857an dan JPY ada di 109an dan Nikkei futures di settle di 14950 di CME.
Kospi mungkin akan jatuh lagi di pembukaan. Mungkin akan dibuka di kisaran 232an dan jika dibuka diatas 233an, saya rasa masih relatif aman untuk SELL dan mengharapkan profit cepat. Kospi mungkin bisa jatuh ke arah 230an jika para investor merasa keadaan ini akan bertambah buruk. Kospi mungkin akan di trade di kisaran: 230an-238an. Perlu diperhatikan juga bahwa Kospi suda jatuh lebih dari 2% kemarin dan saya rasa, penurunan hari ini mungkin akan di limit dan tidak akan terlalu parah.
Hangseng mungkin akan dibuka melemah juga seiring dengan pasar2 di AS semalam. Exporter yg mendapatkan pendapatan terbesar dari pasar2 di AS mungkin akan mempercepat jatuh hari ini. Hangseng mungkin akan jatuh ke kisaran 27000an tetapi perusahaan minyak dan pertambangan mungkin akan limit jatuhnya setelah harga2 komoditas naik ke rekor tertinggi mereka semalam. Asian market preview 03/01/2008
US markets tumbled again overnight sending Dow Jones to a worst start since 1983. The declines in ISM manufacturing index to 47.7 increases the odds of recession and also crude oil reached $100 per barrel overnight while gold is at 28 year high at $860 an ounce have made investors nervous and seek safe haven. The Dow tumbled 220.86 pts or 1.67%, Nasdaq lost 42.65 pts or 1.61% while S&P500 fell 21.20 pts or 1.44%.
Asian stocks may tumbled again at the open of the 2nd trading sesssion in 2008 today. Nikkei is still closed for the New Year's holiday and will resume trading tomorrow. Political tension in Pakistan, more violence in Nigeria cutting oil output and worsened bombings in Baghdad made crude oil rose to a staggering $100 per barrel record. Asian market review 02/01/2008 (Indonesian)
Pasar2 di Asia jatuh hari ini, memperpanjang penurunan yg terjadi sepanjang kuartal 4 tahun 2007 setelah laporan mengindikasikan ekonomi di Korsel dan Singapura melambat. Saham2 juga jatuh karena penurunan yg terjadi di AS di hari terakhir perdagangan tahun 2007 yg dipicu karena kekhawatiran investor perekonomian AS akan terus melambat dikarenakan oleh makin besarnya kerugian akibat pasar2 kredit. Pengeboman yg terjadi di Sri Lanka juga memberikan faktor tersendiri untuk penurunan bursa regional. Kejadian tersebut mengingatkan kita akan ketegangan politik yg terjadi belakangan ini di seluruh dunia. MSCI Asia Pacific kecuali Jepang hilang 0.7% hari ini ke 525.95, menjadikannya penurunan terbesar setelah 17 Dec.
Kospi dibuka di 242.00 dan Kospi turun perlahan tapi pasti setelah menyentuh harga tertinggi harian di 242.50 di sekitar pembukaan. Kospi tidak naik lagi sedikitpun dan hanya turun sepanjang perdagangan. Samsung electronics mempercepat penurunan setelah laporan pemerintahan menyatakan ekonomi Korsel juga memburuk seiring dengan AS. Kospi menyentuh harga terendah di 236.15 dan turun lebih dari 2%. Saya juga ada BUY Kospi di 242.50 dan saya rasa, saya hrs menunggu lebih lama lagi untuk mendapatkan profit saya. Kospi bergerak antara 236.15-242.50 hari ini dan ditutup di 236.45.
Hangseng dibuka di 27700 seperti yg saya perkirakan, dan mengikuti saran saya sendiri, saya akhirnya main Hangseng dan mendapatkan BUY saya dengan harapan untuk mendapatkan sedikit profit menambal kehilangan saya di Kospi. Saya tidak perlu menunggu terlalu lama karena Hangseng naik dulu ke arah 27941 sebelum turun di dekat penutupan sesi 1 dan sesi 1 ditutup di 27466. Sesi 2 dibuka di 27498 dan Hangseng turun lagi lebih jauh ke 27288 sebelum akhirnya melakukan rebound dan ditutup di 27663 di akhir perdagangan hari ini. Hangseng bergerak di antara: 27288-27941.

Asian markets fell, extending the declines from 4th quarter 2007, after government report indicating the economy in South Korea and Singapore are slowing. Stocks also fell caused by the declines in US market on the last day of trading in 2007 on concern economic growth in the nation will falter amid widening credit-market losses. A bombing incident in Sri Lankan also became a factor in the regional declines today, reminding us of the political tensions happening around the world. The MSCI Asia Pacific excluding Japan lost 0.7% to 525.95, making it the biggest decline since Dec 17th.
The Kospi opened at 242.00 and it went down gradually after only touching its day high at 242.50 at around open time. it didn't went back up at all during the trading session. Samsung electronics paced declines after government reports showed that South Korean economic is slowing too following US economic conditions. Kospi reached as low as 236.15 today declined more than 2%. I did BUY Kospi at 242.50 and I guess I have to wait for another day to get my profit. Kospi moved today between: 236.15-242.50.
Hangseng opened at 27700 as I expected, and following my advice, I played the Hangseng and get my BUY with hope of returning some of my loss in Kospi. I didn't wait long when Hangseng went up at the open to touch 27941. It then went down towards the end of session 1 to close the session at 27466. 2nd session opened at 27498 and it went down further to 27288 before rebounding up and close the day at 27663. Hangseng moved today between: 27288-27941.

JPY trade di harga 111an, minyak mentah di $96an per barrel, emas ada di $830an dan Nikkei futures ditutup di 15225 di CME. Pasar2 Asia tahun ini mungkin tidak akan naik sebanyak tahun lalu tetapi mereka tetap akan terus naik. Segala sesuatu yg berhubungan dengan Cina akan terus menguat tahun ini menurut saya.
Kospi mungkin akan membuka tahun 2008 di harga lebih rendah dari penutupan hari Jumat lalu. Tetapi, saya rasa pelemahan ini hanya untuk sebentar saja karena dengan berakhirnya musim liburan, para investor akan mulai kembali dan mulai invest again di pasar2 ini. Kospi mungkin akan dibuka di kisaran 240an-241an dan saya rasa jika Kospi dibuka di sekitar harga itu, masih cukup aman untuk BUY. Kenaikan Kospi tahun ini mungkin tidak akan sebanyak tahun lalu. Nikkei is still closed today for New Year's holiday while JPY traded in the 111ish region, crude oil traded at $96ish per barrel, gold traded at $830ish per barrel and Nikkei futures closed at 15225 in CME. Asian markets this year may not gain as much as last year but they'll continue to advance nonetheless. Anything related to China market will be strong this year in my opinion.
The Kospi might start lower in 2008 but I think it's not going to stay weak for long because with the holiday season's over, investors are bound to come back and starts investing again in these markets. Kospi may open around high 240ish-241ish region I think and if it opened around that area, it's still a good place to get a BUY in my opinion. Asian market Review 2007
In the last trading day of 2007, the US markets tumbled yet again with Dow losing 101.05 pts or 0.76%, Nasdaq fell 22.18 pts or 0.83% and S&P500 fell 10.13 pts or 0.69%. The uncertainties in the US economy and the ever faltering housing markets are the main reasons for these downfall and turbulence in the late 2007 for Wall St. 2007 was a remarkable year for Wall St, with high volatilities in the markets due to the subprime problems. The market began the year continuing the rally that had pushed the Dow above 12,000 for the first time in October. Then, in late February, China sparked a global selloff and Dow plunged 400ish pts in 1 day. The panic didn't last long as Dow quickly regained grounds and went past 13,000 by April and even past 14,000 in mid-July. When the ongoing housing problems didn't stop and a rise in mortgage foreclosures due to resetting adjustable-rate loans was taking a toll across the credit market, the so-called "subprime" problems began to gnaw at the financial markets globally. The high volatility rate made investors worried and it became really hard to make any investment decisions. These problems cut the Dow advance from over 13% in October and it fell from its Oct 9th record close of 14,164.53 to make the yearly advance of only 6.43%. Nasdaq also fell from its highs and finish the year with a 9.81% gain at 2,652.28. S&P500 finished the year at 1,468.36 or a gain of 3.53% which is way below its record close on Oct 9th at 1,565.15.
Asian markets this year has been one of the best region performers globally with Kospi, Hangseng and China markets being the market leaders. Asian stocks gained for fifth year running overall, amid speculations that the Fed will cut rates further next year.
Nikkei index started 2007 at 17353.67 following the gains at the end of last year. It reached its highest at 18215.35 on Feb 26th before it tumbled along with global stock markets after China big one day selloff to get to its low at 16642.25 on March 5th. This didn't last long as Nikkei rebounded back up and touched its new highest peak at 18240.30 on June 21st. However, these gains also didn't last very long as the US subprime problems affected the stock markets globally and made Nikkei lose quite a lot of ground and touched its year low of 14837.66 on Nov 21st. Nikkei ended the year at 15307.78, which is lower than the price at the start of the year, making Nikkei the only market to actually in loss due to the high volatility in the markets caused by the US subprime problems. Nikkei's yearly range was: 14669.80-18300.40

It kept on rising and it reached its year high on Oct 31st when it closed at 2085.45 or 263ish for the Kospi futures we're playing. It then retraces back down a bit caused by US problems and fear of recession and closed the year at 1897.13 or 241.90 for the Kospi futures. Kospi yearly range was: 1345.08-2085.45 or for the futures it was from 180ish-263ish.

It was a rollercoaster ride for Hangseng though with high volatility rate in 2007 with many 1000+ moves across the year. It kept on rising and touched 20000 level for the 1st time on 27th Feb when it closed at 20147.87. It tumbled along with other markets after China selloff and was at its lowest on March 5th when it closed at 18664.88. It then rebounded up and kept on breaking highs to reached its peak at 31958.40 for the very first time ever on Oct 30th making Hangseng the 2nd best performer market in the region besides China.
